Steve Jobs’ favorite (or at least his lawyers’ favorite) Mac rumor site, ThinkSecret, has some info and pics of the Intel-based boxes that Apple has begun shipping to developers. According to ThinkSecret, the Apple Development Platform ADP2,1 boxes are based on 3.6 GHz Pentium 4 processors, and are built into the casing of a PowerMac G5. The boxes are capable of running both OSX and Windows. ThinkSecret also reports that the OSX for Intel boot CD that ships with the boxes didn’t work with non-Apple hardware. So, for now at least, it looks like the only way to get a look at OSX for Intel is to get one of the developer boxes, which you can do if you’re willing to spend $1,500 ($500 to register as a developer with Apple, plus $1,000 to "rent" the computer). Seems like a small price to pay to be part of history.
